About Us.
The Outlier Inn was established in 2002 and sits on a beautiful 14 acre property in New York state’s Catskill mountains, 90 miles from NYC. We offer a peaceful and inspiring respite from life in the Big City. We are an inn, a retreat center, an event and location space, a fiber and vegetable farm, and a world-class recording studio.
The property features:
7 year-round accommodations with heat and private indoor facilities
5 seasonal accommodations with communal outdoor facilities
3 outdoor kitchens, 2 outdoor showers, 5 outhouses, covered outdoor dining table for 50 people
100 seat amphitheater
Wood-fired cedar hot tub, cedar sauna, swimmable pond
Farm with sheep, goats, alpacas, chickens, a self-serve barn shop and a seasonal vegetable CSA
Private access to Rails-to-Trails nature hike

Our Mission.
The Outlier Inn is a place for rest, relaxation and inspiration. We aim to make our guests as comfortable as possible and want to ensure a great experience for all, no matter what the season!
Recharge your batteries by reading a book, writing a song, going for a hike, cooking with friends, hanging out with animals, enjoying a nap in a hammock, getting cozy around a campfire, or making snow angels.
We encourage our guests to shop locally while they are here by ordering a CSA vegetable basket from our garden and by shopping for local produce and wares in our Barn Shop and at local farmer’s markets.
Please do not bring bottled water - we have delicious (and frequently tested) well water and we encourage you to only bring post-consumer-recyclable and compostable products with you.
All of our accommodations are equipped with compost bins and single-stream recycling bins.
